Iran will respond to any military strike as if it were “all-out war,” a high-ranking Iranian official declared Friday, as American naval forces, including an aircraft carrier battle group, approach the Middle East.
“Our armed forces are prepared for worst-case scenarios. All military assets remain on maximum alert,” stated the official, who requested anonymity.
The warning follows President Trump’s Thursday comments about an American “armada” moving toward Iran, though he expressed hope military force wouldn’t be necessary while cautioning Tehran against harming demonstrators or resuming nuclear activities.
“Any violation of Iranian sovereignty will provoke a response,” the official added, declining to detail potential countermeasures but emphasizing Iran’s readiness to defend itself.
